!!!!

wow. woke up today at about 0730 for my first french class at 0830 (which was my first lesson in UCL). upon opening the window, was engulfed my the cold mist. it's still misty outside, & i took a picture wahah. 

I was wondering how come the room was so cold, and was going to check my heater (the spoilt one) & i got the shock of my life. IT WAS FIXED! (: but everything seemed the same, as in like my door was locked before i entered which means the technician had an extra key to my room. ok i'm not surprised about that since i mean there is usually a set of master keys held by the administration, but wow i was surprised 'cuz i would have expected them to come in when i'm in the room. but i'm happy anyway. nothing was misplaced, except that my room was a little cluttered and unsightly. but yay! for the heater :D hope it really works.

i must comment that french is such a tough language :( i just had my first lesson & i'm lost at some parts. but i think that it's such a beautiful language though. ok, motivation to study!

PHOTO TIME! ok here are pictures of the dorm in my room. it's quite small, but there is a washing basin, and that is super CONVENIENT! haha as you can see, my cupboard is in a mess. but i have an excuse, xingyan and xiuli were bunking in with me! so we spent like an hour scrubbing the place clean with rags.

the night view outside my dorm. it's a pretty dead town at night. but maybe that's 'cuz school hasn't started yet. Officially, school starts tmr, but we have no lessons on monday, yipee! (: but we still have lotsa things to settle though. like my spoilt heater.

BRUSSELS

just came back from brussels. WOW the hotel (Eurostar Four Stars) at Boulevard Anspach was TOTALLY WORTH IT! for a double room, we only paid total of 59 EUROS and that was like about 20 EUROS each. TOTALLY WORTH IT. shall upload the photos soon.

actually, brussels was pretty boring. we practically finished it in a day but the buildings were really lovely. last night we decided to have a good dinner. we found a thai restaurant which had the cheapest food available: PHAT THAI!! but for 8.50€ - what that was like S$17.50 for a phat thai moo (pork)? but it was pretty sweet. something light for a change as we have been scrimping on sandwiches day & night.

this morning before we headed back to louvain we visited the euro commission (almost missed it until xingy & xiu) pointed it out to me. mwahaha. then we went to Jubelpark (it was FREEZING COLD) even though it was not really subzero but still. the wind was atrocious. HATED IT. but the buildings were so pretty. in the end we went to the military museum to warm up. wahahah. i guess i shall end it here.

oh wait. i HAVE to complain about the town being closed on SUNDAYS. we wanted to surprise the family with home cooked food BUT everything just had to close. the MALL CLOSED. like what? so now we're stuck in the dorm, probably have to wait for the parents to drive us out for a meal. 

Onward to Bruxelles!

It's 2334 & i'm going to sleep. Heading to Brussel tmr, can't wait! haha, the nice gothic castles blah blah. must write down the places to go. Had the orientation briefing today & after that we headed to Bregetts (?) for a drink. The cherry beer was not too bad, but i had coke. hmm, after that xingyan, xiuli & i helped xiuli move into her apartment.

my heater is spoilt. gotta tell them soon. heh.

PLUS must complain about the insurance thing. this whole procedure of registering ourselves as a resident in Louvain-la-Neuve is super complicating. But can't wait for brussels, mussels (:

Louvain - 2nd night

Testing. Spending the second night in Louvain-la-Neuve after visiting Brussels for dinner. Finally could connect to the internet, YAYERS! (:
